International Cat Day

Did you know that today is International Cat Day?
We thought we would take this opportunity to introduce you to our beloved cats Penelope and Pants!
Penny is very friendly and will do absolutely anything for a cuddle. She loves the dogs and is never too shy to say hello to them, even if it’s in their path of working sounds. You will normally find her curled up on her favourite trainers desk or overseeing the training sessions and giving it her purr-sonal touch.
Penny was adopted from YP Puppy Rescue as a kitten 5 years ago and is definitely a staff favourite!
Pants is our grumpy boy who loves to keep a low profile, but he can also be sweet when he wants.  Beware of Pants’ belly trap – he will trick you into giving him a belly rub but then show you how he feels about it. Pants was a rescue kitten and is 13 years old – our favourite senior boy!
These cuties assist us with training for our Assistance Dog Programs. Our dogs are able to be placed with a recipient that has a cat, as our trusty helpers Penny and Pants are the best training tool. They act as a good cop/bad cop duo with Penny being the sweet and always willing to help one, where as Pants is more than happy to put the dogs in their place when needed. They both provide the dogs the opportunity to work with the distraction of them so they get comfortable being around cats.
Post your cat and how you’re celebrating in the comments below!‍⬛
