Every Thursday Balgowlah Lions Club volunteers join with One Meal volunteers to provide free food to disadvantaged people . Registration is necessary. All welcome.
The venue is Beverley Job Park, Narraweena ( behind the Oval ). The time 3.15 pm to 4.30 pm.
Lions Balgowlah volunteers cook the meat on their Barbecue Trailer. Every week one Lions member serves the food and supervises the several One Meal volunteers who also do a great job serving the food.
One Meal provides the meat, bread , fruit , salads, juice plus hot soup in Winter. The food served is donated free to One Meal by many generous businesses in Sydney northern beaches .
One Meal volunteers collect the food from the donors.
Once a week volunteers collect unsold bread from Retailers .
Donated clothing and groceries are stored at the One-Meal warehouse and offered free to the needy.
The warehouse is generously provided rent-free.
