The Northern Beaches Car & Bike Fest
The Northern Beaches Car and Bike Fest is an annual event organized by Barney Bedelis. Heart Kids is the charity that is beneficiary of the net proceeds. Together with other stallholders Lions Club of Balgowlah provide food services to the public who attend. Proceeds are also sent to Heart Kids.

Lions Club of Balgowlah is providing volunteers to assist Community Co-Op Northern Beaches in their food distribution to disadvantaged families on Sydney northern beaches.
Dalwood Spilstead Centre
95% of brain development occurs in the first 5 years! Children from vulnerable and stressed families are at risk of attention, language, learning and behavioural problems due to poor attachment and stimulation in the early years. These children can later experience school failure, social difficulties and ant-social behaviour.
Research has clearly shown, however, that if families are supported and children receive intensive early intervention services these problems can be alleviated. The Dalwood Spilstead Service provides a unique program which is renowned for its work in assisting these children and their families.

The innovative "Spilstead Model of Early Intervention for Children At Risk" received the NSW Health Award in Primary and Community Care for 2011.

In the tradition of the historic Dalwood Children's Home, the Dalwood Spilstead Service owes its ongoing success to the extended "familiy" of community benefactors and supporters who so generously contribute both their time and finances to help small children in need. We thank them.

Pioneer Clubhouse
A place for you in Balgowlah
Pioneer Clubhouse is on Quirk Road in Balgowlah. We provide a safe, supportive, respectful environment for people living with mental illness.
It’s a place you can go to meet other people with lived experience of mental illness, take part in activities and find the help you need on your mental health journey.
Pioneer is an accredited clubhouse. This means that the staff and members manage it together and work side-by-side as colleagues doing administration work, running a kitchen and preparing meals (available at a small cost each day), maintaining the surrounds of the building, tending the vegetable garden, planning social activities and cleaning duties.
By taking part in the daily running of the Clubhouse members learn valuable skills and build the confidence to find work.
Pioneer Clubhouse is run by One Door Mental Health. Each member of Pioneer is welcome, wanted and expected to arrive each day.
Pioneer Clubhouse is open Monday to Friday. Office hours are 9 am - 4 pm.
